About Kyrus
Kyrus is a growing UK manufacturer of automation equipment and engineering systems. We design and manufacture robotic linear tracks, machine guarding, laser enclosures, gantry systems, positioners, manipulators and bespoke automation solutions for customers throughout the UK and overseas.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit a Sales Support Engineer to strengthen our sales and engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a technical background who enjoys working with customers, preparing quotations, producing proposal drawings and helping transform customer enquiries into successful projects.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Sales Team, you will play a key role in supporting the sales process from initial enquiry through to order placement.
You will work closely with customers, sales personnel and engineers to develop technical proposals, help prepare quotations and generate concept layouts for a wide variety of automation and engineering projects. In addition, you will also generate CAD models, technical documentation and marketing materials for our line-up of standard catalogue products.
This role sits between Sales and Engineering and would suit someone who enjoys technical work but prefers a commercially focused role rather than full project design engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate customer quotations and cost estimate calculations.
- Generate proposal drawings, layouts and concept CAD models.
- Develop customer proposals and supporting documentation.
- Liaise directly with customers to gather technical information and clarify requirements.
- Support the sales team throughout the quotation and proposal process.
- Prepare rendered images and visualisations for customer presentations.
- Maintain and develop standard product documentation.
- Produce datasheets, installation guides and technical literature.
- Support the development of standard product offerings.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure proposals remain practical and commercially viable.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- Organised and methodical.
- Comfortable communicating with customers.
- Technically minded with a practical engineering approach.
- Able to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
- Highly accurate and detail-oriented.
- Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks.
- Enthusiastic about learning and developing within a growing business.
Essential Requirements
- Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, Apprenticeship or equivalent experience).
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong technical and numerical skills.
- Experience using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Fusion)
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within mechanical engineering, automation or manufacturing.
- Experience preparing quotations or technical proposals.
- Experience producing engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining or mechanical assembly processes.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
What We Offer
- Early finish every Friday.
- Friendly and supportive working environment.
- Varied and interesting technical work.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects.
- Genuine opportunities for career development as the business grows.
- Direct exposure to customers, engineering and business operations.
