As part of a small development team, you won’t disappear into one tiny part of a large project. You’ll get exposure to the whole process — from an initial idea and planning through to development, launch and ongoing improvement.

More Than Just Coding

We build bespoke portals, operational systems, APIs, websites and digital platforms for a range of clients — and we want developers who enjoy solving problems, building things properly, and seeing their work make a real impact.
This is a role where you can grow quickly, contribute ideas, and develop across multiple areas of software development in a supportive, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
✔ Building and improving bespoke operational systems, portals and websites
✔ Working with APIs and third-party integrations
✔ Exploring and implementing AI-powered features and automation within the systems we build
✔ Using modern AI development tools to support coding, problem-solving and development - while understanding and taking responsibility for the code you produce
✔ Developing features using PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML and CSS
✔ Maintaining and improving existing systems as projects evolve
✔ Helping turn ideas and designs into polished, high-performing systems and digital experiences
✔ Troubleshooting technical issues and improving system reliability
✔ Learning best practices around performance, security and scalability
✔ Contributing ideas and solutions as part of a collaborative team
✔ Working across a variety of projects rather than being siloed into one product
The Kind of Developer We’re Looking For
❌ You do not need years of commercial experience or to be a senior developer.
✅ You do need to be motivated, curious, and eager to improve.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow as a developer in a real-world commercial environment.
You should be comfortable with the fundamentals and excited to continue learning.
Skills & Experience
Essential
✔ PHP
✔ MySQL / SQL
✔ JavaScript
✔ HTML & CSS
✔ Understanding of web development fundamentals
✔ Good communication and problem-solving skills
Nice To Have (but not essential)
✔ Experience with frameworks such as Laravel, Vue or React
✔ Experience working with APIs
✔ Familiarity with Git/version control
✔ WordPress development experience
✔ Awareness of web performance and security best practices
Working Hours & Environment
✔ 37.5 hours per week
✔ Monday to Friday — 9:00am to 5:30pm
We’re flexible where needed, but this is primarily an office-based role in Torquay. We believe working closely together helps collaboration, creativity, learning, and building great software as a team.

Our Interview Process
We aim to keep the process straightforward and relaxed.

2. Short technical task and discussion
3. Final interview with the team
We want interviews to feel like a two-way conversation — it’s important that the role feels right for you as well as for us.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
