We’re looking for a confident, compassionate and motivated Team Leader to join a specialist supported living service in North Tyneside, supporting autistic adults and individuals with complex needs to live independent, fulfilling and meaningful lives.

About the Role
As Team Leader, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the service, providing leadership, guidance and support to a dedicated team.
You’ll help create a positive environment where staff feel supported and empowered to deliver outstanding, person-centred support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and supporting a team of support staff.
- Promoting high standards of person-centred care and support.
- Supporting autistic adults and individuals with complex needs to achieve their personal goals.
- Embedding positive behaviour support approaches into everyday practice.
- Coaching and role-modelling best practice to colleagues.
- Supporting the delivery of safe, effective and responsive services.
- Managing challenging or sensitive situations calmly and professionally.
- Building positive relationships with families, professionals and external agencies.
- Ensuring regulatory standards and internal procedures are followed.
- Contributing to service development and continuous improvement.
- Participating in an on-call rota and providing additional support when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people and has the confidence to lead a team.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience supporting autistic adults and/or individuals with complex needs.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a care or support team.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support approaches.
- An understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements within social care.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused in challenging situations.
- A flexible, proactive and hands-on approach.
- A genuine commitment to promoting independence, choice, wellbeing and quality of life.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
- Experience leading or supervising within a care or supported living environment.
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care.
