Operations Manager – Manufacturing
Essential Criteria: Powder painting process/management of a facility with a powder coating plant

Purpose:
This role will lead and give direction to the operations teams in an optimum manner so as to provide service to all customers both internally and externally, in a cost-effective manner by meeting set KPI’s.
You will be responsible for the manufacture of all finished products to external customers and for implementing and managing continuous improvement techniques by providing excellent leadership and direction of the Operational teams.
Daily Responsibilities:
· Leadership of all operations employees with 2 direct reports: Operations Managers for Metalwork and Woodwork.
· Senior Leader and motivation to the Production Team.
· Directly control the Powder Paint Line and Assembly area.
· All elements associated with the manufacturing of products on site. Ensuring that the organisation maintains its lead in technology manufacturing systems and quality systems to ensure that it is a leader amongst its competitors.
· Provide build updates to the stadium sales managers who are responsible for driving installation projects on site.
· Build peer support and strong internal company relationships with other key management personnel.
· Working with department heads and senior management to get the best performance from employees.
· Identify gaps in skills and knowledge of self and any direct reports and work to improve capabilities through coaching, development and training.
· Setting and maintaining targets to deliver the Company strategy, policies and practices by understanding the demands of the customers and ensuring production capacity is achieved.
· Have working knowledge and experience of the ERP system, Microsoft Navision.
· Along with the Maintenance Manager, ensure that the plant and equipment is maintained and adequate to produce products at the most competitive advantage.
· Ensure manufacturing systems are introduced that keep pace with world class manufacturing standards.
· Provide a point of contact for key internal customers.
· Ensure that the company operates to the quality system as laid out in the Procedures Manual, controls and directives.
· Actively review and remedy quality issues to proactively maximise service levels, minimise returns, and improve product availability to ensure all aspects are on time and in full.
· Provide Management Information as requested.
· To work with due regard to current Health & Safety Regulations and COSHH provisions and to actively promote a proactive approach to Health & Safety Management.
· Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.

Continuous Improvement
· Ensure a disciplined approach to data and root cause analysis.
· Lead projects that eliminate waste through all areas of Operations.
· Analyse processes using established continuous improvement techniques to optimise performance statistical analysis, 5s, OEE, waste elimination.
· Implement suitable continuous improvement processes to hit KPI's.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications required:
Experience
· Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing employee groups and major projects or initiatives.
· Demonstrable record of continuous improvement techniques and of working within a lean manufacturing environment
· Background in Operational Excellent and the manufacturing sector, ideally high SKU, and small batch production.
· Experience of using an ERP system e.g. NAV, would be an advantage
· A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

Qualifications
· The Operations Manager must demonstrate a good standard of education at GCSE level with preference given to A level and Higher Education standard applicants and those with relevant qualifications
· Membership to the relevant professional body
