Accounts Assistant
Responsibilities
· Manage the Accounts Payable function with another team member, including preparing and processing payment runs.
· Accurately process supplier invoices and ensure timely payment of creditors.
· Update and maintain financial spreadsheets and accounting records.
· Review, process, and reconcile employee expense claims in line with company policy.
· Assist with month-end activities, including reconciliations and reporting tasks.
· Administer and maintain company fuel card records and transactions.
· Provide administrative and finance support to the wider team as required.
· Respond to ad hoc requests and undertake additional duties to support business operations.
Requirements and Skills
· Previous experience in a finance, accounts payable, or similar accounting role.
· Good knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial compliance procedures.
· Ideally AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or possessing equivalent experience, with a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accruals and prepayments.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and other financial functions.
· Experience using accounting software, preferably Sage or similar finance systems.
· Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve numerical discrepancies.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and liaise with stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently whilst maintaining a high standard of performance and accountability.
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
