To assist in organising and delivering a programme of activities for our Residents. Ensure that all residents have an individualised social activity plan of care which caters for their hobbies and interests to enhance their quality of life and to promote a feeling of wellbeing and being valued as an individual.
This position is full time and will involve some weekend work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver a programme of suitable activities for our Residents which incorporates individual needs and interests.
- Organise entertainers to attend Abbey House Nursing Home on a regular basis, bearing in mind the enjoyment factor of the residents and value for money.
- Undertake a monthly newsletter to incorporate what is going on and items of interest for the residents.
- Liaise with the Registered Manager to assist and plan quarterly Resident and Relative meetings.
- Encourage residents to actively participate and choose their activities.
- Undertake individualized activities for those residents who do not like the communal settings.
- Keep the residents’ notice board up to date and post a list of coming events for the month in advance.
- Assist to plan and deliver fund raising events throughout the calendar year to provide financial support towards the cost of entertainers and craft materials.
- Keep a record for each resident of completed activities.
- Ensure residents are assisted to retain their individuality and independence.
- To demonstrate a genuine interest in the welfare of the Residents and a commitment to high standards of practice in the performance of your job.
- To comply with Health and Safety policies.
- To report all incidents/accidents to the Manager or Nurse in Charge.
- To undertake training and keep an up to date awareness of Safeguarding.
