We are a supportive and patient-focused GP Practice committed to delivering excellent primary care. Our team values professionalism, compassion, and collaboration. We are now seeking an organised and proactive Practice Administrator to join our administration team.
This is a varied and vital administrative role supporting the day-to-day operations of the practice. The successful candidate will work across multiple areas, including care navigation, prescription processing, correspondence handling, and reception support, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of care to our patients.
Job Summary
- Care Navigation: Guide patients to the most appropriate clinician or service, using practice protocols and clinical system prompts
- Reception Duties: Support front-desk reception during busy periods, answering phones, greeting patients, and managing appointments
- Prescriptions: Process repeat prescription requests accurately and efficiently in line with practice policy
- Practice Correspondence: Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including hospital letters, test results, and clinical documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records on the clinical system (e.g. SystmOne)
- Support general administrative tasks such as scanning, coding, filing, and data entry
- Liaise with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely communication
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold data protection standards at all times
About You
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, organised, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential skills and attributes:
- Previous administrative or reception experience (ideally in a healthcare or NHS setting)
- Confident with IT systems and able to learn clinical software (e.g.,SystmOne)
- Clinical Coding ( Read Coding)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Professional, patient-focused, and respectful at all times
Desirable:
- Experience handling repeat prescriptions, care navigation or clinical coding
- Knowledge of NHS systems, patient pathways, or referral process
