At Warners Supermarkets, we're proud to be an award winning independent supermarket serving the local community. Working in partnership with Morrisons, we combine the convenience and value of a national brand with the personal service and community spirit of an independent retailer. We are looking for a motivated, hands on Team Leader/Duty Manager to help lead our store team, deliver an outstanding shopping experience, and ensure the smooth day to day running of the business. This is a varied and fast paced role where no two days are the same. You'll lead by example, support and develop colleagues, and take responsibility for the store in the absence of senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Take responsibility for the day to day operation of the store during duty management shifts.
- Ensure high standards of availability, merchandising, cleanliness and store presentation are maintained at all times.
- Coach and develop colleagues, providing training and ongoing support where needed.
- Plan workloads and delegate tasks effectively to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain legal compliance, including food safety, health & safety and age restricted sales.
- Respond confidently to customer queries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
- Support stock control, waste reduction and accurate replenishment across all departments.
- Carry out opening and closing procedures & cash handling.
- Ensure promotional activity and seasonal events are executed to a high standard.
- Work collaboratively with management team to achieve sales, service and operational targets.
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve standards, processes and the customer experience.
- Lead by example through a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to get involved wherever required.
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a retail environment.
- A confident leader who enjoys developing and motivating people.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible approach, including the ability to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
- Someone who thrives in a busy environment and can make sound decisions under pressure.
- A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high retail standards.
Pay: £14.20 per hour
