Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work across our schools in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Within the trust, there are primary and secondary schools where you will support children with a wide range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
Duties
- Work one-to-one and in small groups under the guidance of the class teacher
- Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Support with personal care
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
The ideal candidate for this role should:
- Have experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs
- Be passionate about working with SEN children
- Be flexible, proactive and patient
- Experience in Psychology, Trauma Informed practice, Youth Work, Residential Care or similar backgrounds that cross over with SEN would be advantageous.
