Domiciliary Care Worker
Hours are: 6 am to 10 pm, but this is not the guaranteed shift you will get.
Job Description:
· Assisting with Personal Care, including skin care, bathing, shaving, oral care, toileting (including management of bladder & bowels), dressing, hair care.
· Enabling mobility, including Moving & Handling transfers, pushing wheelchair, checking of specialist equipment e.g. wheelchair seat cushion, driving of client’s vehicle, as directed.
· Dietetics, including assistance with menu planning, preparing, serving and storing of foods.
· Assist client to fulfil activities of daily living e.g. working, leisure, and education.
· Assist with medications as prescribed.
· Dealing with correspondence as requested.
· Day to day household tasks where required by the care plan e.g. changing beds, laundry, shopping.
· Respect for client confidentiality and discretion at all times.
· Reporting & recording as per company procedure, on the care plan, communication sheets, red book etc.
· Commitment for identifying and fulfilling ongoing personal development for the service users.
· Identifying areas of support for the Service Users both emotionally and spiritually, as well as physically.
· Ensuring that Service Users feel a sense of value and importance, ensuring they have choice and treating them with dignity and respect at all times.
· Identifying areas of risk or change in circumstance including health condition and reporting appropriately.
· Adhering to company policies and procedures at all times.
· Adhering to the Care Quality Commission regulations at all times.
· Ensuring all vulnerable adults are free from harm or abuse.
· To consistently identify your own weaknesses and complete training and gain support where appropriate.
· To consistently contribute towards the quality of service provided by Asra.
· To actively make the workplace a pleasant and productive environment for service users, colleagues and others.
Personal Requirements:
· A qualification in Health & Social Care L2 or equivalent is strongly desired.
· Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
· Further education such as The Care Certificate is of a benefit.
· Job experience and associated training is of a benefit.
· A driver’s license is strongly desired.
· A professional and friendly attitude is essential.
· A willingness to work flexible hours, which includes early mornings, nights and weekends is essential.
· Professional appearance, courteous manner, and clear, friendly phone voice.
· Ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure and successfully navigate or diffuse tense situations.
Please note we are not taking Skilled worker or work visas.
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Sandwell, West Midlands: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
