Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards
- Support the team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
- Follow food safety protocols at all times to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Help with ingredient organisation, storage, and stock control
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
- Supervise junior staff or trainees as required, providing guidance and support
- Contribute to menu development by offering ideas based on culinary trends and guest preferences
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills within a fast-paced setting
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are desirable
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of restaurant or hospitality operations is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability in food preparation, culinary techniques, and service standards
