Williamson Global Logistics Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our expanding team based in Derby.
This is a Monday to Friday tramping position, with nights out required during the week. No weekend working is expected, allowing you to enjoy your weekends at home.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a professional driver who has experience driving large commercial vehicles and is confident working independently. You will represent Williamson Global Logistics at customer sites, so a smart appearance, excellent attitude and strong communication skills are essential.
The successful applicant will:
- Hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Have a thorough understanding of EU Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
- Be reliable, honest, punctual and hardworking.
- Take pride in maintaining a high standard of professionalism at all times.
- Be able to work independently and make sensible decisions.
- Have experience securing loads safely using straps and other load restraint equipment.
The Role
- Monday to Friday tramping position.
- No regular weekend work.
- You will be allocated your own dedicated, modern truck, which you will keep.
- The vehicle must be kept clean and presentable at all times, both inside and out.
- Deliveries and collections throughout the UK.
- Tail lift experience would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided.
- Very occasional handball may be required, although the majority of work is straightforward.
Load Security
Load security is taken extremely seriously at Williamson Global Logistics.
Every load must be correctly strapped and secured without exception. This is not only company policy but also a legal requirement. The successful candidate must understand the importance of safe load restraint and ensure every vehicle leaves site fully compliant.
