Role Overview
The Washer is responsible for cleaning, sanitising, and preparing all catering equipment used for airline meal production and aircraft service. This includes trays, utensils, trolleys, drawers, containers, and galley equipment. The role is essential to maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring smooth production flow, and supporting timely dispatch of catering items to aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitise trays, utensils, containers, and catering equipment using industrial dishwashing machines.
- Clean trolleys, drawers, ovens, racks, and galley inserts according to airline and facility hygiene standards.
- Sort items before washing (metal, plastic, delicate items) to prevent damage.
- Inspect washed items to ensure they are fully clean, dry, and ready for packing.
- Report damaged or missing equipment to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness of the washing area, machines, floors, and workstations.
- Follow strict food safety and hygiene procedures, including correct use of chemicals.
- Support stock rotation by organising clean equipment for production teams.
- Work closely with packers, searchers, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Comply with aviation security and safety regulations at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for long periods.
- Ability to follow hygiene and safety instructions accurately.
- Basic English reading and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team.
- Experience in washing, cleaning, catering, or warehouse environments is helpful but not essential.

- UK criminal record check (CRC)
- Overseas police clearance (if applicable)
- Full security screening as required by aviation regulations
Pay: £12.71 per hour
