Childcare Worker

Join a leading organisation in Wales dedicated to supporting BME and migrant victims of domestic abuse and other related issues. We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Worker to provide a nurturing environment for children who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse. This role is crucial in ensuring a high quality of childcare that meets the educational, social, and cultural needs of individual children.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate play opportunities that promote the children's well-being.
- Support the development of children and young people within the organisation, ensuring a happy, safe, and enjoyable experience.
- Address the specific needs of children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse, tailoring activities and support accordingly.
- Maintain a secure environment, following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of children at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ 3 Certificate or equivalent in Children and young people is essential.
- Experience in support work is desirable.
- Strong understanding of the needs of children who have experienced trauma.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
- This role is restricted to female applicants only, in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
