Overview
We are looking for an experienced school cleaner to work on a temporary basis, possibly permanent, to join our cleaning team working 3.15 p.m. and 6.15 p.m. Monday to Friday, term time only plus inset days.
Applicants must have a current enhanced DBS certificate and live local to M40.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized and free of dust, dirt, and debris to promote health and safety standards
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste responsibly in designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming as needed
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap in bathrooms and cleaning stations
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality of work
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled hours
- Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work collaboratively with team members
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude towards maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures
