Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of food production and service
- Prepare a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Lead food preparation activities, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery of meals
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for procurement of ingredients and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Implement innovative menu ideas whilst maintaining operational efficiency
- Enforce strict food safety protocols and ensure all team members adhere to hygiene standards
Experience
- Demonstrable supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across diverse cuisines
- Proven team management skills with the ability to lead a busy kitchen environment effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous restaurant experience is essential, with a focus on high-quality service delivery
- Experience in managing food service operations including serving customers when necessary
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive team atmosphere
