We are looking for a reliable and trustworthy part-time Site Caretaker to help maintain a supported living complex in the Bromford, B36 area.
Upward Housing CIC manage and maintain supported housing for people who have an assessed care and support need established by the local authority adults social care department, who may have, but not limited to a learning disability, physical disability or other complex care and support needs.
The successful candidate will be dependable, approachable and take pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our tenants, visitors and staff. You will be able to work independently, have good communication skills and enjoy being a friendly and helpful presence on site. You will have practical skills, a proactive approach and the ability to identify and report any issues to help ensure the building and communal areas are well maintained.
Examples of Duties:
- Help maintain the general upkeep, safety and presentation of the supported living premises and communal areas, creating a welcoming environment for tenants, visitors and staff.
- Carry out routine caretaking duties, basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs where appropriate.
- Manage bin stores and refuse collection areas, ensuring they are kept clean, safe and tidy.
- Carry out gritting and snow clearance during periods of adverse weather where required.
- Carry out regular checks of communal areas and the wider site, identifying and reporting any maintenance, security or health and safety concerns.
- Take utility meter readings and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with key management and maintain accurate key records.
- Carry out routine testing of safety systems, including (but not limited to) smoke vents and fire alarms, and maintain accurate records (full training will be provided).
- Build positive relationships with tenants and staff, offering a friendly and approachable presence on site while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Report maintenance issues, fly tipping and any health and safety concerns to the Housing Team.
- Liaise with external contractors and the Housing Team to support and monitor works carried out on site.
Immediate start.
Employed, part time.
Permanent position.
£14.00 per hour.
Part-time, 3–4 days per week including Friday
