We are looking for an experienced Senior Capital Projects Construction Manager to join our Estates Design & Technical Services (EDTS) team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated construction professional to lead the delivery of a varied portfolio of capital construction and infrastructure projects across the Trust estate. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across projects from feasibility, design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams including Surveyors, Engineers and Trainees, while managing contractors, consultants and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget. This role offers the opportunity to influence the future development of healthcare environments that directly support patient care and staff wellbeing.
The post is based at St Mark’s Hospital, Maidenhead, with travel across Berkshire Healthcare sites as required. Flexible working opportunities are available where service needs allow.
- Lead the delivery of capital construction and infrastructure projects across the Trust estate
- Manage projects through all RIBA stages from feasibility to commissioning and handover
- Prepare feasibility studies, specifications, technical drawings, reports and cost estimates
- Procure and manage contractors and consultants in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions
- Administer JCT and other construction contracts and oversee project budgets and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with HTMs, HBNs, CDM Regulations, NHS guidance and statutory requirements
- Act as Principal Designer where appropriate and support safe project delivery
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, contractors and specialist advisors
- Lead, supervise and support Surveyors, Engineers and Trainees within EDTS

The “must haves” for this role:
1. Degree level or equivalent experience and formal training in construction.
2. Professional registration or evidence working towards membership.
3. IOSH or equivalent accredited Certificate.
4. JCT Contract Management qualification or equivalent.
5. Experience of managing projects through inception, design and completion.
6. 5 years’ experience of design and building projects or 5 years’ experience of construction contract management.
7. Car driver with access to car.
