As part of our experienced Employee Relations team, you'll play a key role in delivering a professional, high-quality ER service across the business. Working alongside knowledgeable and supportive colleagues who are passionate about achieving the right outcomes, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of employee relations matters while helping to make a positive difference to both managers and employees.
Our HR Shared Services team operates a hybrid working pattern, spending four days a week in the office and one day working from home.
What are my responsibilities as an ER Advisor?
Partner with managers through coaching and mentoring to ensure that casework is resolved in a professional manner, in line with policy timescales. Advisory options are presented to our managers in a way that they can use advice to make their own commercial decisions as well as understand the risk and wider implications.
Respond to employee queries and concerns without undermining line manager relationship and escalating concerns appropriately.
Responsible for the preparation of case documentation as necessary, ensuring the investigation/hearing manager is ultimately the owner of the final documentation.
Work closely with managers in order to develop an understanding of the business and to establish a professional working relationship with managers and colleagues at all levels.
What do I need to qualify for this ER Advisor role?
Experience managing a portfolio of ER cases, ideally within a shared services environment
Good knowledge of employment law/employee relations issues through working within an HR team.
Ability to understand the crux of the situation and quickly gain trust.
Building solid working relationships and effectively communicate at any level.
Ability to respond to changing demands and priorities
There is a continuous demand from the business for ER support and the pace at which the business operates means a quick and commercially focused response is required by the role, therefore credibility and the ability to influence are essential.
