This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has a calm and confident communication style, and is keen to build a long-term career in dentistry.
About the role

- Answer telephone and face-to-face enquiries in a calm, helpful and confidential manner.
- Support patients throughout their visit, including those who may feel nervous or anxious.
- Assist with patient records, administration, payments and general reception duties.
- Learn and support chairside dental nursing duties under supervision.
- Help prepare the surgery, materials and equipment for appointments.
- Support infection control, cleanliness and decontamination processes in line with practice procedures.
- Work closely with dentists, nurses, reception colleagues and the wider team.
- Take an active interest in learning the dental technical side of the role so you can communicate confidently and informatively with patients.
What we are looking for
- Excellent communication skills with a calm, confident and professional approach.
- Warm people skills and a genuine interest in looking after patients.
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and the maturity to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple demands.
- A proactive approach to filling knowledge gaps and improving skills.
- A strong work ethic, reliability and pride in doing a job well.
- A team-player mindset, with a willingness to help colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Previous customer service, reception, administration or care experience would be helpful, but full training can be provided for the right person.
Training and development
We will support you to develop the skills and knowledge needed for a career in dental nursing. Trainee dental nurses are expected to work towards a recognised programme that leads to General Dental Council registration, with appropriate supervision and support in practice.
