Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Distribution Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will fulfil the order entry and shipping processes to ensure the customer experience is a positive one. To enable you to be successful, you will need to be a good communicator, liaising with other key stakeholders including quality, production, sales and engineering teams.
Duties
- Management of assigned customer accounts, gathering and creating export shipping documents and organising assigned transport method.
- The processing of sales orders from their receipt to their despatch, including the maintenance of procedures for your specific customers.
- Liaise with all freight forwarders / carriers where necessary
- Work closely with manufacturing & purchasing to ensure the Customers delivery requirements are satisfied
- Maintain clear communication with carriers, warehouse teams, and internal departments
- Inform the manager of any problems that will adversely affect the task in hand or the customer’s expectations/service levels
- Maintain up-to-date and organised files
- Answering of telephone enquires within the business
- General enquiries as necessary within the department
- Conformance with all Company rules and policies where applicable, e.g. Health and Safety, Security, Disciplinary Procedures etc
- Processing of Customs paperwork as required EUR1, ATRs & Country of Origin certification.
- To offer job flexibility and work additional hours that suits the needs of the business whilst supporting your colleagues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in shipping, distribution, administration.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
- Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and maintaining detailed records
- Ability to remain level-headed under pressure and when working to tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- IT literate, confident in use of email, Word and Excel
Working Hours 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
