Care is Central - brand-new Care Village in Flitwick
Our brand‑new care Village, The Core, is now open and we’re looking for a two passionate, reliable and friendly Catering Assistants to help us create a community where every resident feels truly at home, safe and respected. If this sounds like you, we’d love you to be a part of our team. We are looking for a flexible individual to join the team as a part time role of either 24 or 32 hours per week.
The Core is a brand-new, purpose-built Central Hub located within Red Kite Meadows, Marigold House our sister Residential care home is 63 bed residential care home is one of only two in the UK designed to meet Passivhaus standards and developed in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council.
You will be joining a supportive care team, led by hands-on management who will provide you with a comprehensive induction and ongoing training programme. Join us on our mission to serve the people of Central Bedfordshire by helping them, treating them well, and providing the best possible care and support.
Your key responsibilities of a Catering Assistant will include:
· Helping to prepare delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
· Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas
· Ensuring the correct use of all machinery and equipment
· Assisting with the loading or unloading of deliveries and supply vehicles
· Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
· Complying with Health & Safety regulations
· Ensure all cooking utensils and pots are cleaned to the required standards
· Carry out any tasks assigned by the Head / Second Chef or Home Manager

Requirements:
· Level 2 Health and Safety (will be provided)
· To be eligible to work in the UK (Please note we do not offer Sponsorship)
· Will to undertake food hygiene level 2 training
· Have strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
· Undertake an Enhanced DBS check (Paid for by us)
