Join Our Team at Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park
About the Role
Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park is a visitor attraction set in 44 acres of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Home to over 250 animals, including rare breed livestock and European wildlife, we pride ourselves on creating memorable days out through great experiences, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere.
Our Farm Kitchen is an important part of that experience. We are looking for an experienced Front of House professional with a genuine passion for food and drink to join our team and take the next step in their career.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, working closely with the Head of Catering to help run our Farm Kitchen, deliver excellent customer service and develop our food and drink offering.
You may have several years' experience working in hospitality or front of house and now be looking for more responsibility and the opportunity to become more involved in the food side of the business.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in what they serve, enjoys good food and drink, and has an interest in developing their knowledge and skills further.
The Role
You'll be responsible for helping to oversee the day-to-day running of the Farm Kitchen, ensuring our visitors receive excellent service and a high-quality food and drink experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the front of house team during busy periods
- Delivering consistently excellent customer service
- Serving food, coffee, tea and cold drinks
- Preparing and plating simple food items
- Providing cooking cover when required
- Making coffee to a high standard, with barista training provided
- Using our EPOS system confidently and efficiently
- Maintaining excellent presentation and cleanliness in our open kitchen
- Monitoring stock levels and helping with ordering and restocking
- Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
- Supporting cash handling and cashing-up procedures where required
- Promoting and up-selling our food, drinks and other products
- Working with the Head of Catering to improve the Farm Kitchen and develop new food and drink ideas
- Supporting other front of house and retail areas when required
The Person We're Looking For
Front of house experience is essential. We're looking for someone who is confident dealing with customers, understands what excellent service looks like and is ready to take on more responsibility.
You'll ideally be someone who:
- Has solid experience in a front of house or hospitality environment
- Is passionate about food and drink
- Enjoys cooking and has a good understanding of food preparation
- Takes pride in the quality and presentation of what they serve
- Is confident, friendly and naturally engaging with customers
- Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm when busy
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Has enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills
- Is happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed
- Has a positive attitude and is keen to contribute ideas
Professional cooking experience isn't essential, but a genuine interest in food and some hands-on cooking experience would be a real advantage. Full training will be provided where required.
This could be a great opportunity for someone who has built up strong front of house experience and is now looking for a role where they can develop their skills, take on more responsibility and bring their passion for food and drink into their career.
