Rebound Care and Support are seeking to recruit flexible, compassionate, reliable and experienced Female Brian Injury Support Workers to join a care team supporting a lady living with an acquired brain injury who lives with her young daughter.
Our client requires 24-hour support to enable her to live safely and as independently as possible while maintaining her important role as a mother.
As a result of her brain injury, our client experiences difficulties with concentration and memory, as well as anxiety. She requires sensitive, consistent and person-centred support with her daily routine, parenting responsibilities and participation in the community.
This role involves supporting client in her routine, ensuring her safety, comfort, and well-being. Focusing on rehabilitation, structure, emotional well-being, and promoting independence.
Part of the role would involve driving – therefore, access to your own car with business insurance and a full UK driving licence is essential.
Shifts:
Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays - 4 hrs ( 11.00-15.00)
Thursday from 2pm till Sunday 6pm ( 24 hrs shifts)
Pay
£17.00-£20.00
Responsibilities
- Supporting our client with activities of daily living
- Providing prompts, reassurance and practical support with memory, concentration and organisation
- Supporting our client to manage anxiety and maintain established routines
- Promoting safe and effective parenting while respecting and encouraging our client's role as a mother
- Supporting appropriate routines and activities for her young daughter
- Having a good understanding of early childhood development and developmental stages
- Facilitating access to the community, appointments, activities and social engagement
- Encouraging independence and participation rather than doing tasks unnecessarily on our client's behalf
- Working collaboratively and consistently with the wider MDT
- Following agreed care plans, risk assessments and professional recommendations
- Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and safeguarding standards
Experience
- Hold a full driving licence and be confident driving
- Have a good understanding of early childhood development and developmental stages
- Be patient, compassionate, reliable and emotionally supportive
- Have excellent communication and observation skills
- Be able to work professionally as part of a wider MDT
- Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Be able to provide consistent, person-centred support within a family home
Training & Background Checks
An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area.
