Mobile Trailer Technician
Your hours of work will be 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday – Thursday and 7.30am – 3.30pm on Fridays (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch each day).
You will be expected on occasion to work later in the evening or weekends as business needs require.
Key Objectives
Tiger Trailers are looking for a Level 3 HGV Trailer Technician to work within our onsite Vehicle Maintenance Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in Trailer Repairs and Maintenance. Including a Strong understanding of electrics and hydraulics. Liaising with customers on their sites you will ensure a positive working relationship is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Complete MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
- Carry out safety checks in line with company and legal requirements.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and apply effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and compliance documentation.
- Work to deadlines to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Support colleagues in the workshop, sharing knowledge and best practice.
- Adhere to health & safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Key skills and experience
This role is ideally suited to a hands on, organised, proactive and self-motivated individual. Suitable candidates will have:
- Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair & maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HGV systems, including hydraulics, brakes and suspension
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and able to interpret wiring diagrams.
- A current HGV Licence (Class 1 or 2) desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Employee Benefits:
