About Us
We are an exciting new children's residential service based in Leicester, providing a nurturing and therapeutic home for up to two children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Having successfully secured our C2 planning permission, we are now progressing through the Ofsted registration process and are seeking a dedicated Registered Manager (Designate) to join us at this exciting stage.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a brand-new service from the ground up, establish an outstanding culture, and make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious, passionate, and child-centred individual to lead our new children's home through the Ofsted registration process and beyond.
We welcome applications from:
- Experienced Registered Managers.
- Deputy Managers with substantial experience in children's residential care.
- Experienced Senior Support Workers who are ready to progress into management.
If you are currently a Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker, we are committed to investing in your development. We will provide mentoring, leadership training, and the support required to prepare you for the Registered Manager role before you submit your application to Ofsted. Our aim is to help you build the confidence, knowledge, and leadership skills needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and registration of the home with Ofsted.
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and child-focused environment.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing staff team.
- Promote positive outcomes for children through effective care planning and partnership working.
- Develop robust policies, procedures, and systems to support high-quality care.
- Manage safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare for Ofsted inspections.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and resources effectively.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities, professionals, families, and external agencies.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working within a children's residential home.
- Thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop others.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding care and achieving positive outcomes for children.
QualificationsFor Experienced Registered Managers
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to complete if required.
- Previous experience managing or deputising within a childrens residential home.
For Deputy Managers and Senior Support Workers
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (minimum).
- Level 5 qualification (or willingness to undertake if not already completed).
- Significant experience supporting children in residential care.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a genuine desire to progress into management.
Full training, mentoring, and structured support will be provided to prepare successful candidates for Ofsted registration.
