Team Leader
Location: London Gateway
Department: Warehouse – Logistics
Shift Pattern: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 (Rotating)
Reports to: Shift Manager
At Ziegler UK, we are part of a globally recognised logistics group delivering smart, reliable supply chain solutions. We are now looking for a driven and hands-on Team Leader to join our Warehouse operation at London Gateway.

The Role
As Team Leader, you will support the Shift Manager in delivering a safe, efficient, and fully compliant warehouse operation. You will ensure the smooth receipt, storage, and despatch of goods while maintaining high service levels for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive productivity and achieve required performance targets
- Manage vehicle turnaround and bay operations efficiently
- Deploy labour effectively in line with workflow and operational demands
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and hygiene standards
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, company, ISO and BRC standards
- Monitor performance using operational tools and implement corrective plans where required
- Support training and succession planning to ensure the right skills mix on shift
- Maintain strong communication between Warehouse, Stock, Administration and Customer Service teams
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across the operation
This is a hands-on leadership role and may require supporting operational duties including FLT driving, order picking, manual loading/unloading, and general warehouse tasks as needed.
About You
Essential:
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Strong understanding of customer service impact and cost of poor quality
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver results
- IT literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets)
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a distribution or warehouse operation
- Experience in case picking and reworking operations
- Working knowledge of warehousing, transport operations, ISO Quality and BRC standards
- Strong interpersonal skills with a resilient and proactive mindset
