Facilities Officer
We are looking for a proactive and practical Facilities Officer to help provide safe, well-maintained, and high-quality accommodation for vulnerable clients. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will play a key part in supporting the effective management, maintenance, and compliance of our properties, helping to create safe and welcoming environments for residents, staff, and visitors.
In this role, you will coordinate and record maintenance requirements, liaise with third-party professionals, and ensure repairs and routine maintenance are completed promptly and to a high standard. You will carry out regular inspections of rooms, fixtures, and fittings, and support residents to maintain their accommodation appropriately. You will also assist with risk assessments, audits, and inspections, helping to ensure compliance with statutory requirements including gas, electrical, fire safety, and water hygiene regulations.
You will work closely with the Accommodation Team to deliver a holistic, client-centred approach to support, helping survivors break the cycle of domestic abuse and move forward in their recovery.
Please note: this role requires the postholder to be physically able to carry out practical facilities tasks.
Basic handyperson skills would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities
· Ensure communal areas, estates, and offices are clean, safe, and well maintained.
· Respond to resident queries relating to facilities and estate services.
· Support responses to emergencies, including building faults and safety incidents.
· Coordinate repairs and ensure issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
· Liaise with external contractors for maintenance and specialist services.
· Monitor contractor performance and service delivery, ensuring agreed standards, service levels, and regulatory requirements are met.
About you
We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Experience of working within a housing association, local authority, supported accommodation, or a similar environment would be beneficial.
You should be confident in identifying and managing risks linked to tenant vulnerabilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to equality, safeguarding, and continuous improvement.
A full valid driving licence is essential, as travel is required for this role.
