Change a Child's Story. Start in Gloucester.
Residential Support Workers & Senior Residential Support Workers Two brand-new children's homes · Permanent · Full-time · Part-time · Bank £14.81 - £17.94 per hour + paid sleep-ins
Some children have learned the world isn't safe. We're hiring the people who will gently teach them otherwise — one shared meal, one bedtime routine, one "I'm still here" at a time.
We're opening two new homes in Gloucester, ten minutes apart, and building a small, steady team from the ground up. If you're warm, patient, and genuinely believe every child can thrive, keep reading.
Why people choose us
Three shifts, four days off. A 37.5-hour week as three 12.5-hour days — real recovery time, real life outside work.
We pay for your Level 3 Diploma. Don't have it yet? We fund it.
You're never alone with the hard stuff. Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Therapeutic Practitioner, and reflective supervision built into how we work — not bolted on.
A team that stays. Deliberately small and consistent, so children get the same trusted faces and you get colleagues who have your back.
Room to grow. Clear progression across Frontline Social Care and Aetheria Group.
What the work really is
Showing up, every shift, as the calm in a child's storm. Building trust through routine, play, and presence. Supporting school, activities, and the small daily wins that add up to a different future. Using relational, restorative, de-escalation approaches when a child is overwhelmed — never punishment, always understanding.
Senior Support Workers also lead on shift, mentoring and supporting the team alongside great care.
What it's like to work here
We're a workplace built on the same values we ask you to bring to the children: patience, respect, and genuine care. Leaders who listen and roll their sleeves up. Supervision that's about you, not just paperwork. A culture where asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, and where your voice shapes how each home is run. Because these are brand-new homes, you won't be slotting into someone else's way of doing things — you'll help build something you can be proud of from day one.
We'd love to hear from you if you bring
Kindness and emotional warmth. Patience that holds steady on tough days. A belief in every child's potential. Lived experience — including care experience — is genuinely valued here.
Backgrounds we welcome: residential childcare, social care, fostering, youth work, SEN support, teaching, sports coaching, emergency and uniformed services, mentoring, and community or voluntary work with young people.
