Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will support the cost management and financial control of construction projects from inception through completion. Your energetic approach will help ensure projects stay within budget, adhere to quality standards, and are delivered on time. Key Responsibilities
· Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
· Monitor project costs and highlight cost-saving opportunities
· Prepare interim valuations and agree final accounts
· Attend site visits and project meetings
· Procurement, including managing contracts, subcontractor quotations, and payments
· Assess and process variations and change orders
· Maintain clear and professional communication with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
· Build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders
· Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements
· Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
· Previous experience in the construction industry is essential
· Knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT or NEC) would be advantageous
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level), is essential
· Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
· Proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop

The Rewards and benefits
· 40-hour working week (Monday to Friday), typically 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with flexibility to meet project demands
· Competitive salary of £30,000 - £39,000 per annum, depending on experience
· 21 days’ annual leave (pro rata), plus 8 bank holidays
