Boon Books has been a trusted name in remaindered and bargain-priced books for over two decades, supplying booksellers, retailers and other outlets across the UK and internationally. Based in Haywards Heath since 2008, we carry a constantly changing stock of thousands of titles- everything from fiction and cookery to children's books and gift titles- we pride ourselves on efficient, reliable picking, packing and despatch. We're a small, close-knit team, so this is a role where what you do genuinely matters to how the business runs day to day.
The role:
- Picking & packing smaller orders and preparing them for dispatch (basic Excel useful).
- Checking in, locating and organising incoming stock.
- Building and wrapping pallets for larger orders.
- Working across both our Ditchling and Haywards Heath warehouses (roughly 20 mins apart) as required- Mileage/travel time between sites compensated.
What you'll need:
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport, to move between our two sites.
- Comfortable with the physical side of the job, regularly lifting boxes ( occasionally up to 25kg), climbing ladders whilst carrying stock and building pallets.
- Able to work reliably without close supervision- good time-keeping and attention to detail matter here.
- Fork-lift experience is a plus; full training given if you're not yet certified.
Hour and pay:
- 8.30-5pm Monday to Friday
- £10.85- £12.71 - Minimum wage as applicable for age, to start. Review after successful probation.
- 28 days holiday (inc bank holidays- optional pension).
