Hours: 31 hours per week Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 08:30am-3:00pm Tue 08:30am-4pm Fri 8:30 – 3:00pm

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised, professional and friendly School Receptionist to join our busy school office team. As the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment while providing high-quality administrative support, including the management of pupil attendance processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents and external agencies.
- Manage the main reception area and respond to enquiries in person, by telephone and email.
- Maintain visitor sign-in procedures and adhere to safeguarding protocols.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post, deliveries and general correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and wider school staff.
- Manage daily attendance administration, ensuring registers are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor pupil attendance and punctuality, following up absences with parents/carers where required.
- Produce attendance reports and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Maintain and update pupil records and other school databases.
- Support admissions and leavers processes as required.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
- Undertake general office duties to support the smooth running of the school.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role, preferably within a school environment.
- Proven experience using Arbor Management Information System (MIS).
- Experience of managing school attendance processes and attendance-related administration.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Professional, friendly and approachable manner.
- Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of school safeguarding and attendance procedures.
- Understanding of school census requirements and statutory reporting.
- First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.
