Growth Marketing Manager
Location: Exeter with 2/3 days a month with remote working.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Type: Full-time
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Growth Marketing Manager to take ownership of our growth strategy as we enter an exciting period of international expansion.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the technical and commercial side of modern marketing – from paid acquisition, SEO and conversion optimisation through to CRM, automation, analytics and attribution.
You'll work alongside our existing Content Creator, allowing you to focus on the strategy, systems, campaigns and optimisation that turn great content and strong propositions into measurable growth.
This isn't a role where you'll simply brief agencies and review reports. We're looking for someone who can own the growth strategy, get into the detail and execute, while identifying when external expertise or additional resources are needed.
What You'll Do
Own our growth strategy
- Develop and own our growth marketing strategy across multiple markets and channels.
- Build market-specific acquisition and growth plans as we launch into new countries.
- Identify new growth opportunities across acquisition, activation, conversion, engagement and retention.
- Translate commercial objectives into clear marketing priorities, campaigns and measurable KPIs.
- Build and maintain a growth roadmap, continuously prioritising the opportunities likely to have the greatest commercial impact.
Drive customer acquisition
- Own and optimise paid acquisition across channels including Google Ads, Meta and other relevant platforms.
- Develop SEO strategies to improve organic visibility and capture high-intent search demand.
- Explore emerging opportunities including AI search / generative search optimisation.
- Develop landing pages, funnels and campaigns designed around conversion rather than traffic alone.
- Continuously assess channel performance, customer acquisition cost and ROI to determine where budget should be deployed.
Build and optimise the customer journey
- Own the marketing funnel from initial acquisition through to conversion, onboarding, engagement and retention.
- Develop CRM, email and lifecycle marketing strategies that move customers through the journey.
- Build segmentation and automated journeys based on customer behaviour and lifecycle stage.
- Identify friction and drop-off points and develop initiatives to improve conversion.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure marketing, product and customer experience work together effectively.
Test, learn and optimise
- Build a culture of experimentation across our marketing activity.
- Design and run A/B and multivariate tests across campaigns, landing pages, messaging, audiences, channels and customer journeys.
- Analyse results, document learnings and turn them into actionable improvements.
- Continuously test new channels, approaches and growth opportunities rather than relying on a fixed marketing playbook.
Own measurement and performance
- Ensure the right analytics, attribution and conversion tracking are in place across our marketing activity.
- Define the KPIs that matter across acquisition, conversion, engagement and retention.
- Build clear reporting that connects marketing activity to commercial outcomes.
- Analyse customer and campaign data to identify trends, opportunities and areas of underperformance.
- Provide clear recommendations based on data rather than vanity metrics.
- Monitor marketing spend closely and continually optimise for ROI.
Marketing technology & AI
- Own and continually improve our marketing technology stack.
- Identify opportunities to use automation to make our marketing more effective and scalable.
- Explore practical applications of AI across marketing, analytics, optimisation, research and automation.
- Ensure our systems and processes can support growth as we expand internationally.
Work across the business
- Work closely with our Content Creator, providing insight into the content, messaging and creative needed to support growth campaigns.
- Collaborate with Product, Commercial and other teams to ensure marketing activity supports wider business objectives.
- Manage external agencies, freelancers and specialist partners where appropriate, ensuring clear accountability for performance and ROI.
- Bring customer and marketing insight back into the business to help inform wider commercial and product decisions.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You'll ideally have:
- 3+ years' experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, digital marketing or a similarly data-driven role.
- A strong track record of driving measurable customer acquisition and revenue growth.
- Hands-on experience with PPC / paid media, particularly Google Ads and paid social.
- Strong knowledge of SEO and organic acquisition.
- Experience with CRM (Ideally Monday.com), email marketing, lifecycle marketing and marketing automation.
- A strong understanding of conversion rate optimisation, funnels and landing pages.
- Experience implementing and working with analytics, attribution and conversion tracking.
- Confidence interpreting data and turning it into commercial decisions.
- Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests and other marketing experiments.
- A good understanding of customer acquisition metrics including CAC, conversion rate, ROAS and LTV.
- Experience working with CRM, analytics and marketing automation platforms.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions, spot opportunities and recommend a better approach when something isn't working.
We'd Particularly Like to Hear From You If…
You've worked in a high-growth, scale-up or international business, or have experience launching products or services into new geographical markets.
Experience adapting acquisition strategies, messaging, channels and customer journeys for different countries would be particularly valuable.
We're also interested in people who are actively experimenting with AI and understand how emerging technology is changing customer acquisition, search, automation and marketing operations.
Why Join Us?
We're entering an exciting stage of growth, with plans to expand across multiple international markets.
You'll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of our growth marketing function and help shape how we acquire and engage customers as the business scales.
You'll be joining at a point where you can have a significant influence – building the strategy, systems, processes and experimentation framework that support the next stage of our growth.
Sound like you? We'd love to hear from you.
