Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our small team in Hackney. We're a cosy Malaysian restaurant, open Wednesday to Saturday but the general work week will be Tuesday to Saturday.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Ensuring all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen area
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks as required
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restocking supplies and ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces and floors
- Adhering to all food safety standards and health & safety policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of restaurant or hotel kitchen operations is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to tasks
- Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food handling
- Good teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues and customers
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
