Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-focused Vehicle Engine Rebuilder to carry out full and partial engine rebuilds to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent hands-on skills, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Stripping, assessing, and rebuilding petrol and/or diesel engines
- Cleaning, inspecting, and machining engine components where required
- Diagnosing internal engine faults and identifying worn or damaged parts
- Measuring tolerances and clearances using precision tools
- Assembling engines to manufacturer specifications or performance requirements
- Updating job sheets and maintaining accurate build records
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Working to deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an engine rebuilder, engine technician, or similar role
- Strong understanding of engine components, tolerances, and rebuild procedures
- Confidence using precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial gauges, torque equipment)
- Ability to diagnose issues and work independently
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and pride in workmanship
- Relevant mechanical qualifications preferred (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, IMI, or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence advantageous but not essential
Location & Travel
- Based at our workshop at LE12 6XB
- Applicants must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting work

- Full-time, Permanent
- Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday work may be required)
