An exciting opportunity has arisen within our family run business for a HGV Class 2 Driver. NRS Waste Management Services Ltd operate a mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles throughout the midlands, servicing the construction industry with waste muck & soil removal, with the supply and delivery of primary and secondary sands and aggregates.
We have vacancies for drivers based out of Shepshed, LE12.
Requirements
· To hold valid licences and qualifications to commercially drive Class C, or Class C+E HGV vehicles, dependant on the position your appointed on.
· All HGV’s are fitted with digital tachograph units and drivers must hold a valid tachograph card and have a good understanding of the EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations (561/2006) and Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005.
· Driver must be fit and able to carry out duties in accordance with HGV medical requirements.
· To attend and participate in any training required by the company to assist the company in maintaining current accreditations and future goals.
Responsibilities
- Transport goods around the midlands and on occasions you may be required to travel distances outside the midlands.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues ensuring vehicles are free from obvious defects and fit for use, you will also be expected to perform some minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Plan routes with Management to meet delivery schedules and customer demand / requirements, i.e., avoiding schools and site restrictions to meet local planning restrictions and local preferred routes
- Document and log work/rest periods and travel spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Report all defects, accidents, or violations to the transport managers promptly.
- Comply with company expectations, always being professional.
- Your hours of work will be 50 hours per week, worked flexibly between the hours of 6.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and may be varied to meet the needs of the Company. Your working times will be determined by the EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations (561/2006) and Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005.
