3 bedroom house based in Cardiff.
As our organisation grows, the successful candidate will initially manage one home, with the expectation of leading multiple homes while maintaining exceptional standards of care and regulatory compliance.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will provide strong leadership to ensure the home operates in accordance with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, the Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017, and Social Care Wales standards.
Working closely with the Responsible Individual and Directors, you will create a positive culture where children feel safe, valued and supported to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring high-quality, child-centred care.
- Ensure full compliance with CIW regulations, legislation, policies and the Statement of Purpose.
- Lead, supervise and develop a motivated and skilled staff team.
- Oversee care planning, safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance.
- Manage staffing, budgets, occupancy and the efficient use of resources.
- Develop positive relationships with children, families, local authorities and partner agencies.
- Lead CIW inspections, audits and continuous service improvement.
- Support the opening and management of additional homes as Ymestyn expands.
- Participate in the management on-call rota (included in salary)
- Take lead in admission and matching processes.
Essential Requirements
- Registered with, or eligible to register with, Social Care Wales as a Registered Manager.
- Level 5 Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) or willingness to achieve within the required timescale.
- A minimum of 2 years experience within children's residential/respite care with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience in working with children with disabilities, additional learning needs and complex needs
- Excellent knowledge of Welsh childcare legislation, safeguarding and CIW regulatory requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
