We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Singing Teacher / Club Supervisor to lead a lunchtime Singing / Glee Club at a primary school in Torquay. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire primary-aged children through music, helping them develop their voices, musical confidence, performance skills, and enjoyment of singing in a fun and encouraging environment.
The club runs during lunchtimes from 12:45pm – 1:30pm (45 minutes per week) over a 10-week course.
Course Dates
- 15th September – 13th October (5 weeks)
- Half-term break
- 3rd November – 1st December (5 weeks)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small group of primary-aged children during weekly singing sessions.
- Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate sessions incorporating popular songs, musical theatre, vocal exercises, rhythm, and group singing.
- Help children develop their vocal technique, timing, confidence, and performance skills.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, self-expression, and a genuine enjoyment of music.
- Work towards songs or short performances that give children a sense of achievement throughout the course.
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding children's participation and progress.
- Ensure the teaching space and any musical resources are organised and ready for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching singing, music, musical theatre, or performing arts to children in schools, clubs, or similar settings.
- A confident singing voice with the ability to lead and encourage groups of primary-aged children.
- Ability to create lively, inclusive, and engaging sessions suitable for a range of abilities.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children and school staff.
- A background in singing, vocal coaching, music education, or performing arts is highly desirable.
Pay: £30.00 per hour
