About the Role
Huber + Suhner Phoenix Dynamics is looking for a skilled and motivated Production Technician to join our production team. This is a hands-on role combining the manufacture of high-quality wiring harnesses with the delivery of our internal training programme for new production recruits.
The successful candidate will be an experienced harness assembler with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of quality while helping others develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Build high-quality wiring harnesses and cable assemblies to customer specifications.
- Deliver our production training programme to new employees.
- Mentor and support new recruits during their onboarding and development.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and wiring diagrams.
- Carry out production tasks to IPC standards while maintaining quality and productivity targets.
- Ensure all work complies with company procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience building wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
- Strong working knowledge of IPC standards and best practices.
- Practical experience in:
- Wire stripping
- Crimping
- Soldering
- Heat shrinking
- Boot laying
- Harness assembly
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience delivering training or mentoring colleagues.
- Experience working within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
Working Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pm
Overtime is available during the week and at weekends, depending on business requirements.
