As part of our Power Transmission & Distribution (Power T&D) team, we are looking for a Substations General Operative to support the delivery of vital electricity transmission and substation projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading infrastructure business and play a key role in delivering projects that help power communities across the UK.
As a Substations General Operative, you will support the efficient running of project stores, site yards and operational activities, ensuring materials, tools, plant and equipment are available to support site delivery teams. You will work closely with site management, stores personnel, HGV drivers and operational teams to maintain safe, organised and productive working environments.
What you'll be doing
- Assist HGV Drivers, Stores Personnel and site operatives with daily duties.
- Support the coordination, issue and receipt of materials, plant, tools and equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
- Check deliveries for quality, quantity and damage.
- Support plant hire, acceptance and off-hire processes.
- Assist with stock management and materials control.
- Help maintain the security, cleanliness and organisation of site compounds, stores and yards.
- Liaise with operational teams to ensure materials are available when required.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing on site
Who we're looking for
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform well in high-pressure environments.
- Experience working on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of the Power industry.
- Valid Telehandler licence.
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
