Location: Barnsley (S70 4AG)
Hours: Part-time
Shift times: Typically 7:45am - 8:15pm
Hourly Rate: £12.81/hr (plus enhanced rates for Bank Holidays and Overtime)
Are you a caring, confident person who enjoys making a genuine difference in people's lives?
At Oak House, we're looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Day Support Worker to join our friendly team. Whether you've worked in care before or have gained valuable life experience supporting others, we'd love to hear from you.
Oak House is a small, homely six-bed service supporting adults with complex physical and learning disabilities. Being a smaller service means we can build meaningful relationships, provide truly person-centred support, and create a warm family atmosphere where everyone is valued. As one family member recently said:"Oak House is small enough to feel like family. The care is exceptional."
What Makes Oak House Special?
No two days are the same at Oak House. Our home is vibrant, welcoming, and full of opportunities for the people we support to enjoy life to the fullest.
From community activities and day trips to social events and hobbies, there's always something happening. Our team encourages people to make choices, learn new skills, build confidence, and maintain as much independence as possible in their everyday lives.
You'll be supporting adults not just with their care needs, but with living fulfilling, active, and meaningful lives.
The Role
As a member of our team you will:
- Support adults with their personal, social, emotional, and physical needs.
-
Encourage independence and help individuals achieve their personal goals.
-
Assist with daily living activities in a respectful and dignified way.
-
Support people to access activities, hobbies, and trips within the local community.
-
Build positive relationships with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
-
Promote choice, inclusion, wellbeing, and person-centred care.
-
Work as part of a supportive team committed to delivering exceptional care.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Naturally caring, patient, and kind.
-
Confident and able to communicate effectively.
-
Passionate about helping others live independently.
-
Positive, reliable, and enthusiastic.
-
Comfortable working as part of a team while using their own initiative.
Previous care experience is welcome, but it's not essential. If you've cared for a family member, supported vulnerable people in a previous role, or have life experience that has given you empathy and resilience, we want to hear from you.
Why Join Hollybank Trust?
As part of Hollybank Trust, you'll be joining an organisation with over 70 years of experience providing exceptional support for people with profound and multiple disabilities. You'll be part of a team that genuinely values the people it supports and invests in its colleagues.
In return, you'll enjoy:
-
Comprehensive training and ongoing development.
-
A supportive and welcoming team environment.
-
Opportunities to progress your career in social care.
-
The chance to make a meaningful difference every day.
-
A rewarding role where no two days are the same.
If you're looking for a rewarding career where you can help people live independently, enjoy new experiences, and achieve their goals, we'd love to hear from you.
