Excel Supply are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Telford for a September start.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of special educational needs. The school supports pupils with autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties, and additional learning needs. The successful candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
The role will involve:
- Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs
- Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, SEMH, and communication difficulties
- Developing and implementing personalised learning plans to help pupils achieve their full potential
- Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external professionals to provide the best possible support
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, either in a mainstream or specialist setting
- A patient, caring, and flexible approach to teaching
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
