We are a well-established and growing steel fabrication and engineering company looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our production workshop. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong background in steel fabrication and engineering who can drive productivity, quality, and safety while leading a skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop and production schedule.
- Lead, motivate, and support the workshop team.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to meet production deadlines.
- Carry out quality checks and resolve production issues.
- Maintain Health & Safety compliance and promote best working practices.
- Work closely with design, purchasing, and management teams to deliver projects successfully.
- Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Workshop Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong background in steel fabrication, welding, or engineering manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of production planning, quality control, and Health & Safety.
- Eligible to work in the UK and based within 30 miles of PE27.
