PUBLIC SPACES AREA MANAGER

As a Public Spaces Area Manager at Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC, you will play a pivotal role in managing the delivery of essential frontline services that directly impact the quality of life for residents. With a focus on Parks and Street Cleansing, you will manage the daily operations of the Public Spaces Service in the Cynon Valley, whilst at the same time assisting the Operations Manager in ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual with excellent management skills, a keen eye for detail and relevant experience in the management of frontline staff. With strong operational experience, the successful candidate will be instrumental in managing a team that ensures the Council has Streetscapes and Parks that the residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf can be proud of.
Reporting to the Public Spaces Operations Manager, you will be responsible for operational services, taking the direct lead for a team of Area Supervisors and Team Leaders, and ensuring high service levels are maintained and resident needs are met.
Candidates will need strong organisational skills, be an innovator and have a strong drive to suceed. You will have excellent negotiation and communication skills and, ideally, bring knowledge and experience of Street Cleansing / Parks operations. We are passionate to explore and develop new, innovative ways of working to successfully enhance our operational services and for this, we need the right person matching our ambition. You will need to be adept at dealing with multiple competing work priorities in a highly challenging, safety critical working environment.
You will work alongside all levels within the council including Elected Members, Trade Unions and senior managers. The successful candidate will be based within the Council’s Environmental Services division at Aberdare Park Lodge, Aberdare, CF44 8BN.
