Skyborne Airline Academy are recruiting for an Exam Invigilator to join the team at our Bournemouth base on a Zero Hour contract. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the secure, fair, and compliant administration of EASA theoretical knowledge examinations in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, examination procedures, and organisational policies. The successful candidate will be provided with the appropriate training course.
The Exam Invigilator is responsible for maintaining examination integrity, preventing malpractice, and ensuring candidates are provided with a professional and controlled examination environment. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity, security and fairness of EASA ATPL theoretical knowledge examinations.
We currently have approximately 10 weeks of available work in 2027, with a further three weeks available throughout the remainder of 2026. As this is a zero hours position, work will be offered in line with exam schedules and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms in accordance with approved examination procedures.
- Verify candidate identity using approved photographic identification.
- Ensure examination materials, equipment and facilities are prepared and functioning correctly.
- Brief candidates on examination rules, procedures, emergency arrangements and acceptable conduct.
- Ensure prohibited items are removed from the examination area.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of examination materials and candidate information.
- Monitor candidates continuously throughout the examination.
- Ensure examinations are conducted in accordance with EASA, CAA and organisational requirements.
- Maintain a professional and distraction-free examination environment.
- Collect, account for and secure all examination materials upon completion.
- Verify that all examination documentation has been completed correctly.
- Complete incident and irregularity reports where required.
- Return examination materials and records in accordance with approved security procedures.
- Assist with examination audits and quality assurance activities as required.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience invigilating aviation examinations (desirable).
- Knowledge of EASA and UK CAA examination requirements (desirable).
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain impartiality and confidentiality.
- Competence in the use of examination software and standard IT systems.
- Experience in an examination, training, educational or compliance environment.
