Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, metal, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely in various environments. The successful applicant will contribute to a range of projects including residential, commercial, and industrial builds, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials according to specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and masonry tools as required
- Read technical drawings and blueprints to determine project requirements
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures or fixtures
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects
- Conduct site inspections to ensure safety standards are maintained during all phases of work
- Assist with roofing tasks where necessary, including installation and repairs
- Lift heavy materials safely and efficiently while adhering to health and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and masonry tools
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in framing, finishing, and detailed joinery
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction projects
- Experience in roofing installation or repairs is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving duties is advantageous
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the construction industry
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
