Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate person to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and organisation. This role will be fully supported and you will be taught the role of a dental nurse. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain the skills required to become a dental nurse within a professional healthcare environment, providing essential patient care and support.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and setting up necessary equipment
- Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and offering reassurance
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the dental practice in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient correspondence
- Adhere to infection control protocols to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and external healthcare providers to facilitate seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Must have GCSE English and Maths 4 or equivalent.
- You will be required undertake the apprenticeship through Wakefield college usually remotely and once per month attend college on site.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good IT literacy to manage electronic health records and scheduling systems
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a professional attitude
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and follow instructions accurately
