Duties
- Offer personalised support to children and young people, encouraging their independence and confidence
- Assist with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and organisation of routines
- Provide mentoring and emotional support, fostering a safe and trusting environment
- Support behavioural management programmes and help implement behaviour plans
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, socialisation, and development
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support
- Assist in organising educational or recreational outings and events
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and report any concerns or issues promptly
Requirements
- Experience working with children or in a caregiving role is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire confidence and trust
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with a patient and understanding approach
- Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service users
- Relevant qualifications or training in teaching or childcare are advantageous but not essential
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required prior to employment
