HOUSE CLEANER & GENERAL PROPERTY ASSISTANT – SCARBOROUGH
Part-Time Initially | Potential to Progress to Full-Time | Flexible Hours.
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and hardworking person to join us to assist with the cleaning and day-to-day running of our residential HMO (Shared Houses) in Scarborough. The position will initially be part-time, with the potential to develop into a full-time role as the workload increases. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
About the Role
The main part of the role will involve maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across our properties, but we are looking for someone who is also confident dealing with tenants and prospective tenants and is happy to take on a variety of property-related duties. Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning communal areas within our shared properties
- Carrying out full room cleans when tenants move out
- Conducting property and room viewings for prospective tenants
- Attending tenant move-ins, including handing over keys, showing tenants their room and communal facilities, and explaining their allocated kitchen/storage areas
- Attending tenant move-outs, collecting keys and checking that rooms and communal storage areas have been left clean, tidy and cleared of belongings.
- Reporting any maintenance, cleaning or property issues identified during visits
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently.
- Thorough and takes pride in maintaining high cleaning standards
- Friendly, approachable and a good communicator
- Comfortable meeting and speaking with tenants and prospective tenants
- Organised and able to follow instructions and report back clearly
Flexible with their working hours were reasonably possible
Working Hours
The role is flexible and hours will vary depending on cleaning requirements, tenant appointments and property viewings.Most work will take place Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm, although some flexibility will be required for:
Occasional early morning appointments from around 08:00am
Occasional early evening viewings, usually no later than 19.00pm
Occasional Saturday or Sunday viewings
We appreciate that flexibility works both ways and will aim to give as much notice as possible when appointments are arranged.
Access to own car is advantageous but not essential!

This would suit someone looking for a varied position rather than a traditional cleaning-only role, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and potentially increase their hours as the position develops.
