Fred Henderson Ltd has been serving motorists across the North East since 1973. Based just outside Durham City, we're a well-established dealership offering new and used vehicle sales, servicing, repairs, MOT preparation, recovery, bodyshop services, and specialist Paintless Dent Removal.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our busy workshop.

The Role
As part of our experienced workshop team, you'll work on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine servicing and scheduled maintenance.
- MOT preparation and repair work.
- Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Air conditioning servicing and repairs.
- Tyre fitting, exhaust replacement, and general vehicle repairs.
- Identifying faults efficiently and completing repairs to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Accurately completing job records and ensuring all work is carried out safely and professionally.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
- Is confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Has strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Is organised, reliable, and able to work efficiently to deadlines.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
A Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent) would be advantageous, although experienced time-served technicians are encouraged to apply.
